Q.

SALIVA SPRAY

Hi Doc,

Is it possible for a child or anyone to contract HIV if someone's saliva spray gets into their eye while talking and what if that spray contained blood?

Thanx

Dear ACS

HIV spread by saliva is very minimal (some experts say you would have to drink 2 litres of saliva for there to be any chance of contracting HIV).
If the spray contained blood then the chances increase. It is advisable to contact your GP in such a case.
