peridontal disease

Dear Dentist

I have alwasy taken good care of my teeth, but have receeding gums and had gingivitus 3 years ago. It was treated (cleaning and mouth wash) but the problem persisted and slowly got worse. I know have peridontal disease (some areas 5mm). I am very worried and really don't want to loose my teeth, I am 37.
Could you please advice, the hygenist recommended seeing her every 3 months, but i still feel distressed. I am flossing every night and doing my best, but what else can I do?
will this just continue , I am petrified my teeth will fall out by the time I am 50. help??

Alison ,

with regular checkups and monitoring, there is no reason why you would lose your teeth. maintain a proper oral hygiene regimen as shown to you by your hygienist.
