Q.

it's out doc

Hi doc, the dentist couldn't redo the root canal, therefore he extracted my 1 on 1 (I think that's what it's called), I have a temporary denture at the moment - before he can put a permanent tooth (I don't know what the proper term is for the procedure) and I am depressed, I never thought that I would have missing teeth before I turned 30, now I need to prevent further teeth extraction. Could you please help me with the following questions:
What causes an abscess?
Is it preventable?

Your help will be highly appreciated as it will help me to take better care of my teeth.

Thanking you in advance
Frustrated and depressed!!!

most likely cause us tooth decay (caries). Regular checkups/visits to your dentist will prevent an abscess from developing provided you follow good oral hygieneo procedures (flossing, brushing)
