Is my Dentist ripping me off ?

Hi Doc,

About 2 months ago I went to the dentist to get one of my pre-molars in my bottom jaw filled as it pained when I ate. The dentist x-rayed my whole mouth and told me I needed a couple more filled. He started with the problematic pre-molar and finished the rest a couple a visits later using the white filling. Most of the teeth were still sensitive after being filled, the pre- molar being the most sensitive. So I gave it two months then went back to him and told him the tooth was still sensitive. He said he wouldn' t charge me and would refill it. However he had to take more xrays and had conveniently found another cavity next to the " free tooth" . So he did not charge for for the re-filling but did charge me for the xrays and the cavity he filled next to the tooth. My problem now is that the initial problematic tooth (pre-molar) is now worse off than it was before I had it filled. It' s even more sensitive now. I don' t know if he took out unnecessary pieces of the tooth and messed the whole tooth up but I know if I go back to him he' ll find some way of charging me for it and make it more worse in the process therefore having to go back and forth to him, paying the whole time and in the end I fear he' ll probably extract the whole thing which I don' t want since this whole thing could have been avoided.

Could you please advise me on what to do ?

Seek a second opinion- without the benefit of seeing your previous x-rays and having examined you it is unwise for me to make a judgement on someone's professional opinion and treatment.
