Q.

iron - black teeth?

Morning Doctor,

My son is now 2 yrs and 3 months old.

He has an iron deficiancy which requires him to take 10ml ferrimed daily.

Is it true that this will discolour his teeth? And if so - what am I to do to prevent this?

Also - from what age should children start visiting a dentist?

Thank you.

The child's first visit to the dentist should be at around the first tooth apperas- so you should have had a visit by now.
There are certain medications which can discolourthe teeth- it is best you have your GP liase with your dentist in this regard.
