implant and orthodontics

Dear Doc,

I need some advice.

I need to have a back molar replaced...therefore an implant done. My dentist also dvised me that I require to have orthodontic treatment done.

All I need to know is should I do orthodontic treatment first or implant?

Please can you advise.

the dentist, surgeon and the orthodontist need to discuss this together. It will depend on the treatment plan- there is no hard and fast rule

My son has developed bottom front teeth that almost overlap after his molars emerged. He has a small jaw and the teeth are overcrowded in the lower jaw. Would it help to remove teeth at the back of the mouth to allow more space and allow the teeth to straighten out or is it too late for that? He is not on medical aid and is like any young person who cannot afford expensive dental care. Are braces the only answer to this problem?
