Q.

gaps

Hi doc,
My brother has bad gaps on his teeth he's very concious about. He has a gap between every tooth - I'm not sure if this has to do with the fact that he sucked his thumb until he was about 7years old, he's now 24.

He'd like to know how to go about correcting his teeth and the cost implications. Will medical aids pay or will they declare this as cosmetic?

If the spaces are between every tooth, braces are the usual treatment route. Most medical aids do pay a portion for this treatment.
