Q.

Crown extraction

Last thursday I had my crown tooth extracted. It was so painful. Monday I called the dentist and they told me it takes up to seven days to heal. I can eat and I must continie to rinse my mouth with salt water. Its Wednesday and tomorrow will be a week. I am still in pain under my ears and other teeth are in pain and sensitivity very high. I looked at the gum where my tooth was and there is still a whole. Till today shoudl there be a whole or is it suppose to be closed. The pain under my ear and lower jaw is that normal and I feel like a little burn against my inner mouth lining. How long should this recover completely and when will the hole close. Im scared to eat on that side food will go in and that is why I rinse with warm water after I have eaten to clean anything that might have gone that side.

THE hole takes about 6 weeks to close. if the pain is not subsiding, return to the dentist as you may have a post extraction infection.

ITS NOT THE WHOLE ITSELF THAT PAINS ITS THE TEETH AROUND IT AND BELOW MY EAR AND THE JAW UNDER MY CHEEK WHERE THE EXTRACTION WAS. SENSITIVITY ON OTHER TEETH. NOW AND AGAIN THAT HAS PAIN BUT NOT SEVERE. JUST AN UNCOMFORTABLE THROB.
