chemo and fillings

i am currently undergoing chemotherapy. at the moment i cant stand any kind of metal object in my mouth, i start gagging when i place a metal fork in my mouth and have resorted to eating with plastic utensils. Yesterday i broke the side of my tooth off and am afraid of getting any infections especially as my white blood cell count is very low. do you think a dentist could just do a temporary filling (i cant have all that drilling and novocain at the moment) and give me something to prevent infection, just until my chemo sessions are over (2 more months!) i am not having any pain its just awward to brush near that tooth at the moment

Yes, you could have a temorary filling done or it could be repaired peranently with a white filling if it is possible (depending on the severity of the fracture)
