Q.

Can a dentist tell I'm bulimic????

Please can u tell me how often I should go to the dentist - I'm worried about my teeth because I have bulimia (purge at least 4 times every day - been like that for the past 7 yrs, I'm a 22yr old female) My last visit's been in 2002. Have no problems as far as I can see/feel, apart from yellowing teeth! ugh....
Anyway - Also want to know, can a dentist tell from looking at one's teeth if you're bulimic? That's my main reason why I've avoided the dentist's chair for the past 5 yrs - I am EXTREMELY ashamed because I have this disgusting eating disorder.

Hi Angelfish

Firstly do not let your condition deter you from visiting a dentist- I assure you the dentist will not think of you in a negative light.
it is possible for a dentist to detect bullemia if it is severe.

DO NOT BE ASHMED! see your dentist it will b in your best interests. good luck
