There are many causes of persistent cough including chronic post-nasal drip and acid coming up the food pipe (GORD).  Some blood pressure medications can also cause a chronic cough.  You should discuss these possibilities with your doctor and even try over the counter antihistamines if you have symptoms of post-nasal drip.
