Q.

worried mother

im very concern about my 7 year old daughter. her father recently left us and moved away, she battles to fall asleep at night, she does not want to sleep in her own bed and hates to be alone, she never goes to bed on her own she always waits for my son to go to bed before she will go and if he goes to the loo when she is still awake she will follow him to the loo, this weekend was the first time in 3 months that see saw him. how can i help her please!

She is very insecure now.She has lost one parent so she is not going to let the other one out of her sight.She is clinging to you for comfort. She needs lots of love and reassurance. Do not discuss any of your unhappiny feelings about or bitterness towards her father-she is not a marriage counsellor.With time she will settle down especially if she sees her father fairly regularly.
