Worried mom

Hi doc, my baby is 1yr and 1mnth we have her at an occupational therapist, shes never learned to crawl on all four she hops on her bum and slides the left leg and the right leg is bend, she moves extemely fast, shes so stubborn she does not want to do the all four crawling thing shes also not walking yet but standing agains everything and then walking, everything she does is left takes left when shes climbes a step she kneels on the left leg and lifts the right etc, she hates it when we exercise with her or when we touch to do what the occupational therapist showed us.

People tell me regularly that she won' t cope in school if she doesn' t get it right with the crawling the Occ therapist said she will have a balance problem, is that so? or should i leave and let her be??

There is no need for concern here. Many babies completely skip the crawling stage and simply go on to walk. She does not need any OT treatment. Give her a chance and she should start walking in a month or two. Let me know if you still have are worried later on.

Up until 18 months old, you really should not worry. What your baby is doing is a form of crawling..
Don`t stress really,Or waste your momey

My sisters little girl is 4 now and she has perfect balance. She also hopped on her bum using only one leg to move around.
I also heard that crawling is important but can you really force a child to do something like that? My sisters son is 5 now and he never crawled. He has no problem either.
I don' t think you should be worried, but that is just my opinion. I' m interrested to see what doc says.
