Q.

Worms and vomiting

The night nurse looking after my baby has told me that her daughter (7) has worms and that they are coming out her mouth!! I am very concerned that this may be a hygiene issue that may affect my baby.

What types of worms would cause this?

Thank-you
Belinda

These are called ascaris or roundworms. Infestation with these worms is very common. Infestation usually occurs by eating sand where the worm egges occur or with poor hygienic conditions. The worms are easily treated with Vermox or Albendazole. Ask your pharmacist.
