Q.

wont drink soya formula

hello Dr my LO is allergic to cows milk formula so the Dr changed him to Isomil he drank it but then got very constipated, then he was changed to to NAN HA1 due to the history of family allergies, he would not even drink 10 mls of it. I went back to the Dr and told me to try S26 LF (lactose free) cause it tastes just like normal S26 i did and his tummy is working nicely but same only drinks about 80 ml every 7-8 hours. I dont know what to do anymore and it kills me not to ssee my 5 month old little boy not eating. I tried to go back to isomil and he wouldnt take it. My husband suggested that we order a formula from the net but in unsure of which one. Soon he will have to change to a follow up formula. The good thing is that his eczema, runny nose, bad chest and bringing up milk is a thing og the past. The Dr also suggested goats powder milk but i cant find it anywhere here in Richards Bay. pls help me i dont know where to turn to anymore

Paediatrician

You have certainly got a big problem here as your baby is refusing all formula feeds except for the S26LF, but he takes too little of that one. Goats milk is very difficult to get hold of, ask your paediatrician if he knows where to get hold of goats milk. There is a new hypoallergenic milk in SA, I have tried to find out the name. I believe it is called Similac HA, but I can't confirm this.See if you can find this new HA milk formula.
