Won' t sleep in cot

My 1 year old refuses to sleep in his cot, which is in our room as his room is not ready as yet. I put him down to sleep at 7:30pm he wakes up half hour later screaming as soon as I pick him up and put him on our bed he goes straight back to sleep. He wakes for the bottle at 1:00am and refuses to go back to sleep in his cot and ends up sleeping with us.

I think he likes a big space to sleep in because he rolls around alot. What can I do to for him to sleep in his cot throughout the night and how can I train him to sleep in his own room when its ready.

It is difficult for you to deal with your baby's refusal to sleep in a cot while his cot is in the same room as yours. So you will need to wait until you move him to his own room and put his cot there. Then you can start a set routine where he will be put to bed in his own cot.If he starts to perform and cry then you will need to use the controlled crying method to get him to accept that he must stay in his cot.It is best not to take too long a time to get your son's bedroom ready for him as he will get more and more used to sleeping in your bed.

My LO did the same, he was quite a big boy as a baby and we put him into a bed in his own room - worked wonders!
