whooping cough

Hi, My 7 week old daughter was diagnosed last week with the whooping cough. She coughs after every hour or two and start vomiting. Sometimes she struggle to breath. She is currently been taken care for at the Highveld Medi-Clinic. Her condition is not improving that well. Is there any specific advice that you can give me to assist the doctors and nurses at the hospital?

Whooping cough can be a serious illness in young babies, especially if there are periods when they stop breathing for a few seconds. It is best to treat this illness in hospital as with your baby. The illness takes quite a while to bring under control. In the early stages it is best to treat babies with whooping cough on an antibiotic and on cortisone and to provide oxgen if necessary.
