When to go to the Doctor

Hi Professor,

My 10 month old has a runny nose (clear), a cough and sneezes sometimes. How do I know when it has gone into his chest and when I should seek medical advice?

He has no temperature, eats and drinks well. I use the nebulizer on him twice a day, 5 minutes at a time, with Duolin and Saline Solution. He also gets Mucospect 3 x 2.5ml daily and Chamiflor nose drops. Can I do the above for 10 days and if there is no improvement, then seek medical advice? He has been on anti-biotics for his tonsils already this month, so I am reluctant to put him back on and am trying to clear his airways.

Thank you.

There does not appear to be any reason to take your child to the doctor. He does not have a fever and is eating and drinking well.He has a cold which has affected his chest but as this is a viral illness he does not need an antibiotic. You are treating him correctly.
