Wheezy chest

Hi dr. I wonder if you can help me. My son is 11 months old. Since March this year he has had a wheezy chest, runny nose and a dry or wet chesty cough. One dr said he has asthma. Gave me aspelone to use. Then singulair with aspelone and nebs duolin with pulimocort. He test negative for milk and animals allergy test. WHen he sleeps at night time. He is dead quite. No cough, no wheeze. The moment he is awake the wheeze starts. Some days he does not cough or wheeze at all. Yesterday he had thick green snot. Today it is clear and runny a bit. I''ve been told every time he has a viral infection. That triggers off the wheeze and cough. Seriously how can you have a viral infection for 9 months ?? I''ve changed his milk. He was on Infacare. He is now on nan perlagon and on Olli organice food - not purity anymore. Yet the symptoms are still there. Other that this , he is not battling to breath. I would know this as i am asthmatic. He is a happy child and everything is fine.

Please can you help me !!!!

It is difficult to be sure about your baby's illness without being able to examine him. The most likely cause of his problem is enlarged and infected adenoids with a post-nasal mucous drip. You have taken your baby son to see sveral doctors and each time you are given a different diagnosis. It is important that the correct diagnosis is made so that he can be put on the correct treatment.I recommend that you either take him to be seen by a paediatric pulmonologist or by a paediatric allergist. Either of these two experts should be able to give you a clear answer about your baby's illness.
