Q.

Wheat Intolerance (Re Post 913)

Good Morning,

I've been reading through the posts and came across post 913. My baby has had diarrhea too for over a week.

How do I know that my baby has a wheat intolerance? Apart from diarrhea, what other symptoms can I look out for? I understand the difference, but in my case do I change my diet, I'm also still breastfeeding or do I stp breastfeeding altogether?

The sachets I got from the clinic taste terrible, what other rehydration therapy can I use that my baby can drink.
She's only been eating veggies. I cut out the fruit for now. Could it be the veggies that's irritating her tummy?

Thank you for your assistance.

This is very difficult to answer as you do not say how old your baby is and whether she is on a wheat cereal. If she is not eating wheat as such then a wheat intolerance is highly unlikely to be the cause of her diarrhoea. Cut out fruit and any fruit juices she may be drinking. Lactose intolerance is a possibility but rather persist with breast feeding unless the diarrhoea goes on and on.Use Rehidrat sachets.
