Q.

What to do???

HI Doc

Please could you offer me some advise as I feel so exhaused during the day.

My baby is 6 months old, during 4 -5 months she would sleep through the night falling asleep at 8 and waking up at 5 in the morning.

My mother in law is currently looking after her during the day and I have asked her numerous times, please try and get her to sleep in the day as she tells me that my baby only sleeps about 1 hour. I feel as though this is too little. At night time, I lay next to her and she'll play with my hands or touch my face and then she'll fall asleep quite quickly.

But now; she is waking up religiously at 02:00 in the morning and cries. Before it would be a few mermors. But now she cries. I get up at least 3-4 times a night with her, turn her over, put the dummy in her mouth and eventually she'll fall asleep but at 2am she wants her bottle.

I'm really feeling exhaused during the day due to the up and downs at night.

I have her in a bedtime routine where I bath her, feed her, her dinner, then it's bedtime and she'll fall asleep but then cries at 2am.

Any advise on what to do?

Many bright children seem to need very little sleep during the day but make up for it by sleeping at night. In your daughter's case she wakes up at 2am because she is hungry. Why don't you just give her her bottle when she wakes up?
