What should I do??

Hi Doc

I would just like a Paediatrician''s opinion on what to do here...when I return to work this aug i need to decide what to do with my then 4 month old baby girl. Should I send her to a nursery school or keep her at home with a nanny??? Ive heard sending her to school will make her sick all the time but she would be well stimulated??

Then im petrified and have nightmares of a nanny hurting my child at home when no one can see what she is doing....

Im SO stressed about this big decision I just want to cry!!!

For a baby this young it would be best to get a Nanny to look after your baby especially with it being winter.Almost all nannies are really kind and caring and love babies and children so you should not be too stressed about this.

Hi Natz

I feel that it is safer to place your little one in a creche. One has very little control over what the nanny does, unless you are also at home at the same time. Have heard too many unhappy stories about nanny''s neglecting the baby while mom and dad are at work. Mostly the baby isn''t abused, but just neglected severely by being left in the cot all day with no interaction or socialising at all. At a good creche there is a lot of supervision, plus socialising so in my opinion its a better option.

Good luck with your decision!!
