weaning off the bottle

I have read all of the articles on how to wean off the bottle and why this should be done (my son is 12 months old); but none of the literanture says what I replace it with; i.e.

- should I give him his milk in a sippy cup
- does he just not have milk anymore; and thus I replace this with water and/or juice?

what exactly happens?

There is no need to rush things and your son is probably not ready to start being weaned off the bottle yet. When you think that he is try with a sippy cup. He certainly still needs to drink milk, but you can try the UHT2% form now.

My son is 11 months, I've been giving him rooibos tea in a sippy cup (Born free, they have nice soft rubber that doesn't irritate the gums) Last week his day mother gave him milk from that cup and now he is off the bottle. He drinks his milk, tea fruit juice and water all out of sippy cups. I never even thougt about weaning, and now it's done.

My son is two and half he is still using da bottle during the day he drinks milk/water and juice and he refuse to drink milk in the feeding mugs he tells me that those are for his water and juice not milk. I only staterd last week to teach him to use mugs for milk and everything else, I told him that his bottles were taken away by the people who collect rubish bin in our erea and luckly he believed that and he stopped drinking milk at night and during the day he get his cup and ask for milk when want to drink it. But is a struggle.
