Q.

weaning from "tietie"to spout--HOW AND WHEN?

hi
please give advise my baby is 16 months old and we are trying to get her to stop drinking from a teat ,we have the soft sillicone spouts from avent- she drinks from them ,very well,but only when it suits her! how do we make the transition from teat to spout ? and make it last?
also ,she does sit on her potty ,is to soon to potty train?

There is no need to hurry, but somewhere along the line you may just stop offering the teat completely.

Personally I would then only offer her anything to drink in the spouted cup. I'd tell her she's a big girl now and doesn't need the bottles anymore and then let her do something symbolic like throwing them away herself or donating them (without the teats) to a shelter for abandoned babies or something like that.
She'll then have to drink from the spout, and when she doesn't want to, you can remind her that the bottles are no longer there because of whatever method you used to get rid of them.
