weaning baby off breastfeeding - how?? when??? clueless.... HELP!!!!!!

Hi ...

I think i am ready for weaning my baby now who is 1 year old. He still drinks and sleeps at night. And when he wakes at night, i still feed him (although its only for comfort). He doesn' t even drink, he just sits there latched on to me. He has about 3 feeds in day.1 before his morning nap, 1 before afternoon nap and 1 before bed time. i feed him about 5-8 times at night. Depends how many times he wakes.
I' m getting so tired and frustrated.

Please help... How must i wean him off the breast?

I heard about taking one feed off at a time or taking baby off 1 time off all feeds and giving cows milk or powder milk instead... Which is best?

And what about the aloe powder thing (not sure about spelling)? Apparantly its something you put on breast that tastes really ugly and than baby doesn' t want breast anymore?

Please help!!!

My daughter in law went through the same thing, she breast fed her daughter until she was 2 and a half. Dont stress to much about this. Give it some more time and when he starts eating more solids he will wean himself. Also try to introduce a cup with spout and give him juice etc in this.
Hope this helps a bit.
