Q.

Vomiting no Fever

HI there

My daughter (11.5 months) started vomiting on Sunday morning, she refused to eat virtually the whole day yesterday and took very little fluids (no formula, 300ml juice and about 100ml water), she was "fine" for the rest of the day and started throwing up again towards mid night last night. She was at the doctor last week who diagnosed her with a seasonal diagnosis (sinus or something similar) and gave her an antibiotic for 3 days and Rinex.

Please advise what I can do for my child, I am unable to get an appointment with her paed until tomorrow morning and I am very concerned.

Thanks for your help.

Paediatrician

I am never happy about a child who is vomiting continuously unless a diagnosis is made. So you need to have her seen by your GP or by another paediaatrician if your regular paediatrician is too busy to see her.

So I took her to the paed this morning, and he feels the vomiting i due to a post nasal drip caused by allergies, we are trying an antihistemine and will see how i goes.

Okay at least she has eaten something, try giving some water, pre boiled and cooled down. Just keep an eye on her. If she has not thrown up today you can wait for tomorrow to see the paed. But go with your instincts if you think she needs to see someone now take her into the nearest hospital.

She hasn't thrown up again today, and according to her care giver has eaten both breakfast and lunch (half a bottle of Purity Fruit) but has not had any formula yet today and very little juice (about 75ml).

hi, that sounds quite worrying. Is she still vomiting? has she eaten drank anything today? If not take her to your nearest hospital as she could dehydrate and that is not good! Better safe than sorry
