Q.

Vomiting and Fever

I Doc,
I have a 3year old little girl
For the past two nights she had a fever, and has been vomiting
During the day she seems fine and in the early evening and morning it seems to worsen, Her bowl movements are hard and few.She has been scratching in her nose (which she doesn’ t normally do) and complained of an itchy bottom twice. Is it worms? Should I been concerned and get her to a Doctor

Your daughter may well have a problem with pinworm infection, but this is not the cause of her high fever and vomiting. In this age group one of the most common causes of a fever with vomiting [with no diarrhoea] is tonsillitis. Please ask your doctor to see your little girl.At the same time your doctor should treat her pinworm infection [using a single dose of Vermox]
