Q.

vomiting after food 11 months

Hi there, night before last my 11 motnh old vomited in the middle of the night. He took his milk in the morning and half his porridge, and kept it down. He didn't want lunch, and after a few mouthfuls of his supper last night, he gagged a bit and then projectile vomited. I gave him a few mouthfuls of porrige after that, which he managed to keep down. And he seems to keep all his liquids in just fine. This morning when I was making him his porrige he gagged just looking at it...and didn't want any. He seems to have quite a lot of gas too...more than normal...do these symptoms describe anything in particulr? Never know when to call the doc...

I take it that this is a new problem with your baby son. There are very many causes of vomiting in a child from mild causes such as gastritis or reflux, which this may well be, to more serious causes such as meningitis. Because it is impossible to be sure about the cause without being able to examine your child,it would be best for him to be seen by his doctor.
