This is a very common problem known as motion sickness or travel sickness. It only affects some people but it can be a real problem for them.It is more likely to happen when travelling on the back seat of a car, but babies should always be in their special car seats in the back of cars anyway.Try to travel when she is asleep and give her a tummy settling meal before travelling such as cereal, pasta, fruit or yoghurt. See that she can see out of the windows of the car if she is awake and play music and chat to her. Make sure that there is fresh air in the car, it is best to have the windows open a bit. No one must smoke in the car. Try to avoid a route where you have to stop and start frequently.
Treatment is available for motion sickness using special patches, but these cannot be used in babies or young children.
