Very tired child

Dr my son, 5yr old, had scarlet fever 2-3 months ago....He recovered well, then 1 month ago,he picked up a stomach virus, that also caused a skin reaction....he also recovered well from this. Now he picked up bronchitis at school that also triggered his asthma....He was on antibiotics....isn' t eating very well, still coughs badly at times (but mutch better now)...also vomits (because of all the mucus), complains of stomach ache and had a bit of diaree this morning. What bothers me is that he is so VERY tired and sleeping alot, 2-3 hours every afternoon. Also complains of sore muscles...Is this normal if I take in consideration that he has been very ill? His glands in his neck is also very swollen....Thanx

I am concerned about your son.He has had several illnesses lately and now he is complaining of being tired all the time. He has enlarged glands in his neck.He may have glandular fever. It is absolutely essntial that you have him seen by your paediatrican. It is also essential that a full blood count is done as well as tests for glandular fever which is also known as infectious mononucleosis.
