Q.

Varicose vein in testicles

Hi

My son is turning 11 this month. He noticed his testicles were feeling different and I took him to the GP. A sonar showed that he has a large varicosele with dilated veins in his right testicle. GP says we can leave it, it may have to be removed when he wants to have kids one day. He will be starting puberty soon, and things are going to start growing, should they not remove it now? Kids heal much better than adults, and wont it interfere with the growth of his testes??

This is a fairly common problem called varicocoele.I would recommend that you get the opinion of a paediatric urologist. Ask your doctor to refer you.
