Q.

underweight toddler

My baby is 18 months old weighs only 10,5. People always point out that he is very thin or very small and i hate that. He was born at 34 weeks, 1,8kg. He is a hyperactive child, he is always running around and talking, the only problem is broncho-pnemonia
every 4 months.
Heis very choosy when it comes to food. He eats porridge for breakfast, formula in between ,Pap and gravy for lunch and a purity in the evening. Sometimes i give him juice or yoghurt in between. He refuses all veges, spit them out. He's got about twelve teeth but is still scared of swallowing. All fruits and macaroni he chews and spit out. I give him multivitamin and scotts emulsion everyday. At nite in his sleep he drinks about 300ml of isomil. What else can i try? Please help!

Paediatrician

He was very small at birth and his corrected age is 16.5 months. He is still very underweight. His diet seems to be reasonably good. I would like you to have him checked by a paediatrician.

Please do not lisen to what other people say. If you are worried take him to the clinic and ask them if he is underweight. My son is also skinny but he is know starting to gain weight. I am also giving him vitamines with Minerals they say the minerals gave him an appetite.
