unable to fall asleep by himself

HI, my son is 10 months old and he is unable to fall asleep by himself except when we drive. OTherwise i have to pick him up and physically rock him to sleep and that still takes forever. He does have reflux but we are treating that. So how do i get him to fall asleep by himself? I am a petite woman and he is a big boy, he is getting very heavy too. Please help!!

Hi there,

I had the same problem, except I pushed my child around in his push chair until he fell asleep and then moved him to his cot. Or he fell asleep on the maid''s back. I have taught him to fall asleep with his bottle. He is propped up on pillows and drinks and sucks until he falls asleep and then I take away the bottle. This is his security, perhaps your baby needs a special toy, blanket, pillow to help him fall asleep.

How much does he weigh, just out of interest?
