Trouble washing hair

My boy cries and screams hysterically when we try and wash his hair - the same with a haircut. He is 22 months old now, and I am desperate for help! We have tried the shower as well, but he looses it when we want to wash his hair. What can i do?????

This is very common and is very much a passing phase.Have lots of patience with him and do not scold him or raise your voice when you want to wash his hair. Make a game of it and use shampoo from a fun bottle eg put shampoo in one of the children's bubble bath containers which looks like a clown or another toy.

Hi Gisela, my suggestion is calm and subtle distraction. Once he is in the bath take a jug of water and amuse him by filling the jug, keeping it up in th air and let it pour down into the water. He will love the sound as well as the way the water drops and while doing that let little bits of the water drop over his hair and on his face. Basically try to wet the hair timeously. Shampoo the hair and let him help to rub the shampoo through his own hair. Rinse timeously and praise him for the good job he's done, kids sure do love it when you praise them. I may seem like a long process but after a while washing his hair will be a breeze.
Hope this helps sweety
