Q.

Travelling to Thailand

Our baby girl will be 4 months old by the end on April this year. We've got the opportunity to travel to Thailand at the end of April. Is it safe for babies at this age to travel by plane and to visit places like Thailand (Bangkok and Phuket), especially ito health issues. Both cities are malaria free but there is some other diseases spreaded by mosquitos etc. It is also the hot season in Thailand. Will that present any problems?

Flying is usually not a problem and often easier when babies are young. However, exposure to infections both on the aeroplane and at the destination is always a possiblity, but I am not aware of any particular concern with the destinations you have mentioned. Your local travel clinic will also be able to advise.
