Hi Dr
Please can you once again give me some advise. My 20 month has had a strange smelling breath for the last few days. I suspect tonsillitis again. He had a temperature a week ago for about a day and a half but it cleared and he has not run a temp the whole week. He is otherwise well but his eye teeth are worrying him so it is making him a little miserable. I managed to get a look in his mouth and his tonsils are red but not too swollen. There are no white patches just very red on either side of his throat. Last month he was on augmentin for tonsillitis and then zinnat for a repeat infection. Two weeks ago his tonsils where clear and my paed put him on a course of purbac to avoid another infection. Do I wait for him to run a temp or do I take him to the dr on monday? As I said he is not feverish, he is eating, drinking and playing the only thing that seems to be worrying him is his teeth?
Thank you once again, I do hope you have a lovely weekend,

Thanks. As you say so clearly here, your son does not appear to be ill. He does not have a fever, he is eating normally and playing as usual. He is on Purbac which should help to prevent tonsil infection. He is teething and that does seem to be the problem now. He should have Panado or Calpol for pain if he is uncomfortable.
