Q.

Tonsils

My son i s turning 3years in a weeks time. Last week Friday he developed a fever and chills, after diagnosing him with tonsilitis, i spent the weekend, not sleeping as his temp would rise about 3 hours after giving him lotum alternating with empiped. He never ate and drank very little fluids.

He was born with enlarged tonsils, and i have noticed that he chokes frequently on his food (not sure if it has anything to do with his tonsils). I am not sure if his adenoids would also be enlarged, but his nose seems stuffy when he sleeps and is runny when he is awake.

My GP suggests that we remove his tonsils as he has had 3 episods this year (the other two not being so severe as the last) but my pead says i must wait a bit. What do you suggest.

The sooner his adenoids and tonsils are removed the better especially with the symptoms he is having. So please see an ENT specialist as soon as possible.
