Q.

TONSILS

How many times must a child be on antibiotics before his/her tonsils must be removed? My child is 3 and one doctor wants to operate and other doctor says it is not necessary until he is 6. My gran is almost 83 and still has her tonsils. A child is still going to get a sore throat whether his tonsils is out or not?

It is usually necessary to remove the tonsils in a child who has 5 or more episodes of definite tonsillitis in a single year.

My child is a year and 7 months now, and I can't go on like this any more, he is sick every month, and we are now removing it by the end of next week. Can't stand the thought, but I don't want my child to suffer any more.
