hi doc. please could you advise me. my daughter is 4 and started school this year. she has had toncillitis 3 times since the beginning of the year. her fever reaches 40 and only goes away after the 3rd day on antibotics. took her to the ent this week and he precribed celestimine 3 times a day then deslex then timset for a month. she has just finished her antibiotic with celestimine and seretide pump. my child was never sick and now he tells me that she has allegies without even testing her. should i remove her tonsills? he says they are not that bad. he says she has a post nasal but surely all this medicine is bad for her? i stopped the celestimine and seretide and my child hasnt coughed once since yesterday. what is up with these docs that just prescribe medicine instead of trying to treat with old fashioned ways? please advise me what do to. thank you.

Your daughter is having repeated attacks of tonsillitis which make her very ill with a high fever.I agree with you about her medicines and I am not at all happy to see that she is being given a powerful cortisone medicine [Celestamine] This is not the usual treament for tonsillitis. Your daughter should be seen by an ENT specialist and a decision taken about having her tonsils removed. This is best done before she gets any older.
