TODDLER WETTING BED

Hi,

I please need some help with my 3 yr old son. He is constantly wetting his bed. I have done some research on the internet and tried what thaty recommended BUT nothing seems to help.
Please help is there perhaps another method that works.
Each time he wakes up with his bed dry , I praise him and make such a big deal of it, hoping it will inspire him to not wet his bed. but this only lasts for about 1 day or 2.

Please help
worried
Thanks

Bedwetting at 3 years of age is very common! You do not have to force your child to sleep without a diaper at this age. You can still keep a star chart etc. but to prevent your child from developing a negative self image it is often good to put a diaper on (at least at this age still) until he is ready to sleep without it. You will notice yourself when the diapers are dry most mornings. Always encourage, NEVER make a child feel selfconcious or scold him for something beyond his control.

If your son is only 3 years old he probably is not physically ready to be dry at night. If there are nights when he does stay dry, it won't be too long until he is completely dry. Until then I suggest that you keep him in nappies at night for both your sakes. Also avoid giving him drinks just before bedtime and get him to use the toilet or potty before he goes to sleep. My daughter only became dry at night after her 4th birthday. Three is still very young so just relax, he'll get there if you don't rush him.
