Q.

Toddler Not Eating Properly

My sin is 7 months old (02/01/2005) and he does not want to eat, we stragle to feed him and he cries almost all the time we feed him. Last month when I took him to the clinic for immunisation he weighed 5.8kg (he was still 6 months). Each time I carry him he is so weak, everyday he eats cream of maize (porridge), purity (pruneso or peaches), purity jiuce (rooibos and grapes juice) and water.

Is there anything wrong with his diet? Are there (multi) vitamins or suppliments that I can give him so that he can gain weight.

One other thing he has not started teething and he can't sit on his own without balance.
PLEASE HELP

Your baby seems to be doing well. At this age breast milk or baby formula is the preferred drink (water only when he has already had enough milk). Some iron supplementation (eg. Ferrodrops) is usually a good idea from 6-12months of age if a baby is breast fed. The most important thing is to establish a healthy and varied diet by 12-18 months of age.
