My little girl has had oral thrush ever since she was a baby, my paed told me to only steam her bottels, which I' ve done, and even now that I' m not steaming the bottles that often I' m still concern. She is turning one in a couple of weeks and I' ve been using Daktarin 4 times a day for plus minus a year, it goes away but it keeps on coming back. Is there anything else I can use? She does get her daily vit. and she eats well. I' m just concerned about the fact that I have to use Daktarin on a regular basis, or for this long period. Will her thrush get better or go away?

Your baby should definitely not have persistent thrush.A single treatment with Daktarin usually should clear her thrush. Also she should not get thrush at her age as a result of her bottle causing this infection. There must be a reason for this, possibly a problem with her immunity. She needs to be carefully examined and tested by a paediatrician. You probably need to get a second opinion and this should be done ASAP.
