The things that hangs down is normal-it is called the uvula. He may be having repeated attacks of tonsillitis. He needs to be seen by a doctor when he complains of a sore throat.

If you are worried why not take him to an Ear, Nose and throat specialist. He would be able to tell why your son suffers from chronic sore throat and maybe this is even the reason he snores.

Stop the snoring now if you can, his future wife will thank you tons, Take it from someone that knows - my hubby snores up a storm.
