Q.

Thirsty child - sugar problem?

My 4 year old daughter has a best friend. I am concerned as she is constantly thirsty and will drink alot more liquid in a day than my daughter. She has also developed a very strong sweet craving. Even though her bed wetting has stopped she does frequently use the toilet. I am concerned she is showing signs of a blood sugar problem. I do not want to interfere, but I would not forgive myself if something does happen to her. She is very dear to me. Shall I advise her mom to chat to her doctor/clinic?

For certain this little girl needs to be checked for possible diabetes. She may be quite normal, but she has some of the important early symptoms of diabetes in children.
