Yes this sounds normal and the usual advice would be NEVER to give in to any of these demands. The best to ignore the episode completely or to give her time out in the bathroom.

I know the title sounds awful, but the book Toddler Taming has what sounds like good practical advice on understanding and then dealing with tantrums. I'm busy reading it at the moment. Apparently, they're normal behaviour.
