Teething - ear ache/shake?

My baby is 9 months and is teething - 6 teeth at once. 4 top and 2 at the bottom. 2 At the top iare through - but this has taken about 10 days. He is in a great deal of pain and discomfort. Runny eyes and warm swollen gums. He doesn't get fever luckily. He won't bite teething rings and his liitle fingers are coverd in bite marks! He is shaking his head vigourisly from side to side. He is also constantly hitting himself on his ear. His ears are not read or infected. My paediatrician told me (when he was 5 months and also teething) that the ear and gum nerves are connected. Is this true and therefore the reason for this shaking and hitting - or should I take him to the doctor? Please advise on the best medicine for his discomfort - Taking in consideration that he will be teething for at least another 25-30 days??? Can he take pain medication this long???

Your baby is certainly having a very bad time with his teething with all these teeth coming out together. There is no link between the nerves in the gum and in the ear. From your description he seems to be having an ear infection apart from his teething problem.Apply Pansoral Gel to his gums at least twice a day. This will soothe the pain a lot. Ask your doctor to check him again for a possible ear infection.

I have been suffering from ear/tooth ache for the last two weeks. It is a constant pain not the normal tooth ache that you get when drinking hot or cold drinks. The pain runs all through the ear into the back teeth wich is driving me crazy. The dentist has given me anti-biotics for five days as he says it is not my teeth, but they don' t really seem to be working. What do you suggest? As I do not know what to do.
