Q.

swollen and red penis

14 months old baby has not been circumcised the end of the penis is swollen and red. He had a real bad bowel movement this morning and had this problem. Gave a bath and dryed him real good do i need to take to doctor or wait

This redness may simply be due to irritation caused by the diarrhoea stool in his nappy. Apply a good barrier nappy cream to the inflamed area such as Bepanthen Cream and see if it heals this redness and swelling. If there is no improvement after 2 days take your son to be seen by his doctor.

You should think about getting him circumcised. Think of all the "stuff" that can get under that foreskin. Also, when urinating it never all gets out and collects under it. He will be much better off being circumcised. At least he will be able to pee straight as he grows up.
