stuffy nose

my son, 29 months, has had a bad cod for a few days. On Friday he was screaming for ages so I took him to our paed. she gave him a thorough exam but found nothing wrong except very stuffy nose, and he was obviously just feeling miserable. She prescribed salex, iliadin and otrivin and pain killers. Now it' s day 5, I can' t give more iliadin, he' s still quite snuffly (though happy in himself) so do I just continue with salex and otrivin? Do you think he could have a secondary infection or is this just one of those things that takes a while to clear uP? Must add he is snoring at night due to the blocked nose.
thank you

Your baby's nose is very blocked at present. You cannot continue on the Iliadin drops or the Otrivin which are the same medicine and cannot be used for more than 5 days in children. Your only option is to use the Salex nose drops which is very safe. You must use the Salex at least twice a day. If he does not improve you may need to consult an ENT specialist.
