Q.

Strong urine smell

My baby boy's 10 and a half months old. He's cutting teeth at the moment. The past week I've noticed that whenever he pee's it smells VERY strongly of urine. It's so bad that I change his nappy after 1 pee. It doesnt look like an infection as his penis is not red. He's on antibiotics for 3 days now as he has an throt infection. I'm giving him Reauteri drops as well. The smell began before the antibiotics. Please help!

This is probably normal as it is unlikely that he has a urinarry tract infection especially since he is on antibiotics. His urine could be too concentrated at present due to inadequate fluid intake. It is advisable to offer him extra water-not fruit juices-at this stage.
