Do not use Stopayne. It contains codeine which is constipating and the also has the potential to be habit forming.

My daughter is 30 months old and suffers from insomnia. When I am desperate for sleep I give her some stopayne this happens at least once a week for the last 3 months. What can the long term effect of this be?

I have heard that its not recommended to use before the age of two, but I swear by it, its the only syrup that actually works and fast at that. Panado makes my LO quite hyper active, don' t know why as it doesn' t contain any sugar. ... a mystery to me. I suppose you would get some parents that actually abuse these syrups just to get a good nights sleep, as shocking as it may sound it certainly happens.

Rather use panado or calpol, Stopayne is very strong.
